Becoming an ATC

  1. FIRST STEPS AS A PILOT
    • When? When you join IVAO
    • Why? To learn the very basics and perform your first flight online

  2. BASIC FLIGHT TRAINING
    • When? After your first flight
    • Why? To get the necessary knowledge to fly both VFR and IFR effectively on the network, from A to Z.

  3. ADVANCED PILOT MODULES
    • When? After the BFT
    • Why? To get specialized in an aircraft or some specific procedures

  1. FIRST STEPS AS A CONTROLLER
    • When? When you join IVAO
    • Why? To learn the very basics and perform your first ATC session online
    • What can I control? Brussels Delivery (EBBR_DEL)

  2. BASIC GROUND CONTROLLER
    • When? After 10 hours (AS2 rating)
    • Why? To learn how to control the ground position of regional airports
    • What can I control? Any ground position (GND) on a regional airport

  3. AERODROME CONTROLLER
    • When? After 25 hours and successful AS3 exam
    • Why? To learn how to manage all procedures linked to aerodrome control (DEL/GND/TWR) and prepare yourself for the ADC exam
    • What can I control? While studying, you can open a TWR position or Brussels GND. When you succeed the module, you are ready to start practical training at EBBR_TWR

  4. APPROACH CONTROLLER
    • When? When you are ADC
    • Why? To learn the approach control (vectoring, traffic sequencing…)
    • What can I control? After succeeding the course and passing an additional competency check on the network (or training server), you can open EBBR_APP

  5. AREA CONTROLLER
    • When? When you are APC
    • Why? To learn how to handle an ACC sector
    • What can I control? You can open up EBBU_CTR, if you would not feel confident enough to connect immediately, please contact our training departement
